"Heaven on Earth" is a unique perspective on the Holy Eucharist. We will see how the promise of the partaking of the divine life arises in the religious history of humanity and culminates in the humanizing of the divine and the divinizing of the human. We contemplate the scientific account of the origin and nature of different kinds of life in the universe. And it is in this context that we come to see that the progressive elevation of matter in the history of the universe reaches its climax and consummation in the descent of the divine life a theophany most evident today in the celebration that was in ancient times described as the 'Discipline of the Secret'

"Heaven on Earth" എന്ന ഈ ഗ്രന്ഥം വിശുദ്ധ കുർബാനയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഒരു പ്രത്യേക കാഴ്ചപ്പാടാണ് നൽകുന്നത്. മനുഷ്യരാശിയുടെ മതചരിത്രത്തിൽ ദൈവജീവിതത്തിൽ പങ്കുചേരാനുള്ള വാഗ്ദാനം എങ്ങനെ രൂപപ്പെട്ടു എന്നും, അതിൻ്റെ പരമാവധി പൂർത്തീകരണം മനുഷ്യനും ദൈവവും തമ്മിലുള്ള ബന്ധത്തിൽ എങ്ങനെ പ്രകടമാകുന്നു എന്നും ഇതിൽ കാണാം. ദൈവം മനുഷ്യനായി അടുത്തുവരുന്നതും, മനുഷ്യൻ ദൈവസമാനമായ ഉയർച്ചയിലേക്ക് വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതുമാണ് ഇവിടെ ധ്യാനിക്കുന്നത്. ബ്രഹ്മാണ്ഡത്തിൽ വിവിധ തരത്തിലുള്ള ജീവൻ്റെ ഉത്ഭവവും സ്വഭാവവും സംബന്ധിച്ച ശാസ്ത്രീയ വിശദീകരണങ്ങളും ഇതിൽ പരിഗണിക്കുന്നു. ഈ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിലാണ് വിശ്വത്തിലെ വസ്തുവിൻ്റെ ക്രമാനുഗതമായ ഉയർച്ച ദൈവജീവിതത്തിൻ്റെ ഭൂമിയിലേക്കുള്ള വരവിൽ പരമാവധി പൂർത്തിയാകുന്നതായി കാണുന്നത്. ഈ ദൈവപ്രത്യക്ഷീകരണം ഇന്നും വിശുദ്ധ കുർബാനയുടെ ആഘോഷത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും വ്യക്തമായി കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. പുരാതന കാലത്ത് ഇത് “രഹസ്യത്തിൻ്റെ ശിക്ഷണം” എന്ന പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നതാണ്.
